Welcome to Gudeg Kandjeng, a charming haven for Javanese cuisine nestled in the heart of South Jakarta. Located at Jl. Hangtuah X Jl. Bulungan No.#10, this quaint eatery brings a slice of Java to urban dwellers and visitors alike. Known for its warm ambiance and rustic decor, Gudeg Kandjeng offers an authentic dining experience that captures the essence of Javanese culture.
Stepping into Gudeg Kandjeng, one is enveloped in the rich aromas of traditional dishes. The central star here is, of course, Gudeg, a signature dish made from young jackfruit, simmered slowly to perfection. While some guests, like Eric Effin P, note that it's “not as good as in Jogja,” many still applaud the authentic flavors. The dish, slightly less sweet than others, caters to those who appreciate a savory profile. The Garang Asem, steamed chicken wrapped in banana leaves, has earned rave reviews for its tenderness and depth of flavor, with customers like Mw Mi vowing to return for this taste of Java.
One of the unique offerings here is the Gudeg Komplit, a complete set that includes a perfectly hard-boiled egg, delicious Sosis Solo, and Tempe Bacem. Miranti Vidyasari praises the flavorful sambal, reminiscent of sambal ijo, yet distinctly its own. Each bite reveals layers of flavor, showcasing why this place captures the heart of Javanese gastronomy.
Hygiene is clearly a priority at Gudeg Kandjeng, as noted by Ellen Brigitta, who appreciated the staff’s commitment to cleanliness when serving fresh vegetables. The portion sizes may be modest, but the quality of rice served here is exceptional, creating a satisfying base for the myriad of dishes.
On a busy day, the charm of Gudeg Kandjeng might bring about a slightly intimate atmosphere, but it's punctuated by the enchanting sounds of a local musician complemented by traditional instruments. This adds a lively aspect to the dining affair, creating a perfect backdrop for indulging in Javanese culinary delights. If you're seeking a taste of Java with a dash of authentic ambiance, Gudeg Kandjeng is a must-visit destination.
In conclusion, while some may find the prices moderate, the experience and flavor make it a worthwhile investment for any food lover. From the heartwarming Gudeg to the savory Garang Asem, each visit promises a delicious journey through Javanese flavors. Come and savor the delights of Gudeg Kandjeng—where tradition meets taste in every dish!

Enak si but of course not as good as in jogja. All good. Rustic place. Small. There is an old gentleman who sings well entertaining the guests.

Food is great! Gudeg is so similar to what we eat in Jogja. Garang asem is made steamed inside the leaves made the Chicken tender and rich. Krecek and nangkamuda thing is so good Def would go back for this taste of Java.

Gudeg is delicious, not too sweet and I like to see the staff putting the veggies using hand gloves, so it's hygiene. The mangut is also good. The portion is not big though but the rice quality is so good. No need to order wedang tape, it's literally just green tape with warm water so it's not nice at all. The price is moderate, not too cheap but not very expensive either

They serve savory type gudeg. I think it’s more to solo style. Gudeg komplit: Portion good, if considering you’re not that hungry. It’s flavorful, sambal is really yumm. It looks like sambal ijo padang, but of course taste different. The boiled egg is indeed a hard boiled egg . Sosis solo is tasty, good filling inside. Tempe bacem yummy. Place is a bit small and might bit tight during peak hour/lunch time, although the place has a good air circulation cause is a semi outdoor concept. Javanese interior, service is nice. Reasonable price.

To be honest, it's quite expensive comparing with the price. I order the ayam goreng and it's just so so. Nothing special. But my friend love the Bubur Gudeg. But I love the ambience with a man playing Javanese music with traditional instrument.

This food stall offers traditional Central Java rice dish, named gudeg and liwet. Gudeg is basically rice served with stewed jackfruit that underwent a prolonged slow cooking that caramelized the stew. Liwet is rice that was cooked in a specific method utilizing an iron pot. The taste is fine and I personally enjoy the ambience too.

A legend - good food, simple and delicious. Place could be benefit from renovation, but overall it's still decent for just quick dine in or take away. Parking is limited though especially if many people are playing tennis .
